Special Care for a Heritage Building

The Marrickville Town Hall was 140-years old when Jezzini Property Services was called to “uplift” it. This expansive 800m2 space (internally and externally) had not been properly cleaned in over 10-years and the ABC Media was going to be shooting and broadcasting an event in the space very soon!

With just 7 days to spare, the Inner West Council of Greater Sydney engaged Jezzini Property Services to turn it around.

Being a heritage building, Jezzini understood the need for special care. We used safe and environmentally friendly chemicals that were light (not too acidic). Armed with micro-fibre cloths, high-dusting tools and all hands on deck, our team worked around the clock to dust, sweep, mop, buff and seal the floors, corners, windows, both indoors and outdoors covering every nook and cranny of the Town Hall building.

The end product was a glorious looking space, ready for the full attention of the media.

Abseiling Through Complex Operations

The Ashfield Civic Centre was the pride of the Inner West Council when it first opened. Its modern architecture included large glass panels that flooded the space with natural sunlight. Unfortunately, the view was often spoiled by the presence of bird droppings.

The space needed to be bird-proofed and cleaned. Height access was a challenge.

Jezzini had to close off the forecourt area for safety. Harnessed up and armed with specialised equipment, our team were able to abseil down the building armed with pressure washing guns. The narrow facades, railings and balconies were all returned to their original sparkle. Bird spikes were installed in all the appropriate places to contain the problem into the future.

Jezzini’s work resulted in a dramatic decrease / reduction in maintenance cost and a building that looked almost as good as new.

Working an Industrial Workshop

Jezzini was invited to clean St Peter’s Depot – a space that had been heavily used as an industrial workshop for many years.

The space was not in a good state at all. Dust, dirt and grime had built up everywhere. This made the walkways a safety hazard. On top of that, the washrooms, toilets and showers were similarly filthy. St Peter’s Depot was overdue for a good scrub.

As with all our projects, Jezzini’s team first performed a site assessment / audit to see exactly what the job needed and then dove into a top-to-bottom operational plan.

The final outcome was a squeaky clean building ready for a new lease of life.
